Equity Analyst

This position involves advising clients (who could be large institutions, P.L.C.'s, Groups and so forth) about how their business and financial interests may be affected by shifts and changes in factors beyond their control.

The Equity Analyst will analyse the information systems he has at his disposal and draw substantiated conclusions about the changing state of the economic climate, which he will then pass on to his clients. The various economies and markets around the world are extremely fluid and volatile, yet inextricably linked. A period of heavy or light market activity in Asia or the U.S. will invariably have a knock on effect for European companies. It is large firms which are affected the most by this and they tend to make up in the most part the Equity Analyst's clientele.

For this position one has to completely understand financial activity around the world and be thorough when dealing with information. Knowing how to correctly process financial data is essential, as is an analytical, rational mind. A strong interest in current affairs and worldwide economy also helps.
