The Branch Manager is a manager par excellence. He is a businessman, a team leader and an administrator. He is at the head of a small team, controlling banking activity in his branch and in his sector.

Main Activities

The Director is responsible for all branch activity, ensuring that his bank runs in accordance to policies and objectives laid down by the management of BNP Paribas. He has to supervise and monitor business activity and maximise productivity. He also has the responsibility of having a portfolio of individual clients or small businesses, participating fully to branch banking activity. He monitors the credit his team has offered its clients.

Qualities Required

The Branch Manager must embrace responsibility, as he is a true leader. He has to be highly autonomous in his initiatives. He should be personable with clients and fellow employees, available to his team and be a good listener. In other words, he is a veritable team player with profitability as his ultimate objective.

He or she should ensure that banking operations within the branch are running as smoothly as possible and that the bank is providing a faultless after-sales service. As team-leader, he must effectively communicate company policy and Group objectives to his team, he should keep their interests at heart, ensure their professional well-being and, if need be, review situations and offer appropriate solutions. The Branch Manager is the BNP Paribas local ambassador, involving himself in local life.
